Advocating for Newborn CMV Screening through Hospital-Based Initiatives

However, CMV screening legislation is not a realistic avenue in all states. In this blog post, we hear from Maggie Kettler, AuD, who has helped to lead successful efforts to increase CMV newborn screening in her home state of Ohio. In this post she discusses successes, challenges, and advice she has for advocates in other states.

EHDI Conference Recap

The goal of the annual EHDI Meeting is to enhance the implementation of comprehensive state-based Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) programs, and there were several key observations relevant to our CMV community from this year's meeting.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

COVID-19, the novel coronavirus outbreak currently elevated to global pandemic status, is of particular concern for the elderly, immunocompromised, and those with underlying health issues. The National CMV Foundation's Scientific Advisory Committee is actively monitoring the situation in regards to its impact on children and pregnant women, as data continues to evolve.
