And stories, incidentally, are the lifeblood of journalism. But for everyday people not working in media, reaching out to reporters pitching them on your personal experience or your kiddo’s story can be downright intimidating. How can you start from square one and break through the clutter?

Meet Kim Hill. Kim, her husband Jason and their four children make their home in Raleigh, NC. Kim is a parent educator for the North Carolina Division of Public Health and board Secretary for UNC Children's Hospital. She's also a volunteer Chair of the CMV Community Alliance - North Carolina. National CMV Foundation Nominates Congenital CMV for RUSP Newborn Screening

​National CMV Foundation and the CMV RUSP Nomination Team are excited to announce we have completed the submission of cytomegalovirus to the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel (RUSP). Administered by the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children (SACHDNC), part of the Department of Health and Human Services, the RUSP is a list of 35 core conditions and 26 secondary conditions that all newborns in the US are recommended to be screened for.

CMV Awareness: What Are We Really Measuring?

Author: Kathleen M. Muldoon & Seth D. Dobson Because there is currently no CMV vaccine, it is important that women are informed of behaviors that can help to prevent CMV infection during pregnancy. CMV infection in mothers is preventable. Yet, most women have never heard of the virus. Estimates of the percentage of women that have heard of CMV range from 9-20%, globally.
